Increase in Foreign Trade in Poland

Poland managed to record a surplus in foreign trade in 2015 of about 10 billion PLN. Imports and exports have a relatively similar value, with slightly more exports. The trade surplus is important for the economy of the country but also for encouraging foreign investors to open new businesses in the country.
2015 trade surplus in Poland
Poland’s trade balance recorded positive values in 2015, the country managing to score a surplus of nearly 10 billion PLN (some 9.863 billion PLN). Exports accounted for most of this amount, at 750.835 PLN, followed by 740.973 billion in imports. Compared to the trade recorded in 2014, last year Poland has seen a growth in exports of approximately 8.3 percent and a growth in imports of about 5.2 percent.
In the first half of 2016, the country’s trade surplus had a value of more than 4 billion euros (more than 18 billion PLN), while for the same period last year Poland recorded a trade surplus of only 2.2 billion euros. The value of the total Polish exports for this period was estimated at around 392.9 billion PLN. The statistical data was provided by the Polish Central Statistical Office.
Imports and exports in Poland
