Better-Score-for-Poland-at-Doing-Business-Ranking.jpgPoland managed to advance in the Doing Business 2016 ranking issued by the World Bank. With a total of 76.45 points in this year’s edition, the country managed to climb seven places compared to last year. Poland’s improvement among the other European countries indicates that is remains a prime location for foreign investments.

The best improvement

Poland occupied the 25th position out of the total 189 countries. On a yearly basis, this means that the country advanced with 7 places, compared to the place it occupied in the 2015 ranking. Economists from the World Bank have highlighted the fact that Poland improved the most out of all the OECD countries, from 2009 and until now. Back then, the country was on the 76th place and today it is on the 25th.

The countries that make top 30 of the list are those that have the best rules and most efficient and transparent functioning. Businesses and markets are functional and effective and at the same time the authorities protect the public interest. Among the OECD economies that are ranked as high-income, Poland has made the most substantial improvements over the years. These favorable economic and legislative changes are part of the main reasons why Poland remains an attractive destination for investments in Europe.

Areas with significant improvements

Poland is ranked as one of the countries that have managed to make improvements for paying taxes over the last year. The report also indicates that the country managed to improve other areas like access to energy and obtaining construction permits.

Poland scored better than other European countries like France (27), the Netherlands (28) or Switzerland (26).

The Doing Business Report ranks 189 economies worldwide and uses various criteria to present an annual report about the state of the world economies.
