Written by: Bridgewest

Plans_to_increase_the_trade_between_Poland_and_Nigeria.jpgPoland is showing interest in investing in various business fields in Nigeria. A recent official Polish visit to Nigeria aimed to find ways to improve the volume of trade between the two countries. Polish officials have declared that the import and export activities between the two countries need to improve compared to last year.

Business opportunities in Nigeria

Polish business owners are looking towards Nigeria for business opportunities. Areas like energy, gas, oil, agriculture and shipping are among the most targeted business sectors in Nigeria. The Polish ambassador in Nigeria was accompanied by the Polish Deputy Minister for Economy and various Polish businessmen during a meeting with Nigeria’s Ministry of State for Industry, Trade and Investment. The Deputy Minster was visiting Nigeria last month in order to find new ways to improve the trade volume with the African country.

Polish officials plan to raise the volume of the trade between Poland and Nigeria to more than 199 billion US dollars, the value recorded last year. The Deputy Minister for Economy declared the two countries could benefit from a bilateral agreement in order to secure a stronger business relationship.

Beneficial investments

The Nigerian market is attractive for Polish investors and Polish companies that choose to invest in mining and other business projects involving the construction of coal mines or other projects involving energetics.

A bilateral agreement between Nigeria and Poland would not only strengthen the business relationship between the two countries but it would mean that Polish companies would create more jobs in the African country, thus improving the current problems faced by the country and improving the overall quality of life.

Nigeria is the largest country and most populous country in Africa and the one with the largest economy. Nigeria is expected to continue to become more economically stable and various business opportunities, such as its oil reserves, are fuelling the country’s growth.
